<p>The Virtual Hope Box (VHB) is a smartphone application specifically designed as a companion to treatment for patients and their behavioral health providers. The VHB offers a range of simple tools aimed at assisting patients with coping, relaxation, distraction, and positive thinking. Through collaboration with their providers, patients can personalize the VHB's content on their own smartphones to address their individual needs. Furthermore, patients have the flexibility to use the VHB outside of the clinical setting, adding or modifying content as necessary.</p>

<p>The VHB empowers patients by allowing them to store a diverse array of multimedia content that they personally find supportive during challenging times. This can include cherished family photos, videos or recorded messages from loved ones, inspiring quotes, soothing music, reminders of past accomplishments, positive life experiences, future aspirations, and affirmations of self-worth. In addition, patients can collaborate with their healthcare providers to develop coping cards tailored to their specific problem areas. The VHB offers an array of positive activity planning tools, distraction techniques, and interactive relaxation exercises such as guided imagery, controlled breathing, and muscle relaxation.</p>
